Clipboard Helper

Every time you copy something to the Windows clipboard, the previous content is lost. Clipboard Helper sits quietly in the background and keeps every text fragment you copy, so you can paste them back later in any order, into any application.

How it works

Clipboard Helper monitors the Windows clipboard. Every time new text appears in it, the program copies that text to its own list. You keep copying as usual; Clipboard Helper accumulates everything in the background. When you're done, open the program and you'll find every fragment you ever copied, ready to be saved or pasted.

The cut/copy/paste capability of Windows works well for transferring single items of data, but is not useful if you want to move a lot of data or keep data longer than your next copy operation. Clipboard Helper works alongside the regular Windows clipboard. It remembers every piece of text you cut or copy, in less than 1 MB of memory, without disturbing other programs that use the clipboard.

Example: 100 web pages

Say you have 100 web pages open and you need to copy small snippets of text from every one of them. Without Clipboard Helper, you have to:

1. Copy a snippet
2. Switch from the browser to Notepad or Word
3. Paste the snippet
4. Switch back to the browser
5. Repeat 99 more times

With Clipboard Helper, you only do the copy operations — no paste, no switching:

1. Copy a snippet
2. Repeat 99 more times

When you're done, open Clipboard Helper and every fragment is sitting there waiting for you.

No-installer technology

Clipboard Helper does not require installation. Download the EXE and run it. No registry changes, no DLLs scattered across System32, no auto-update services left running. Delete the file and the program is gone.

• Windows 7, 8, 10, 11 (older versions back to Windows 95 are still supported)
• About 3 MB of free RAM while running
• 1 MB of free disk space

Awards

The first version of Clipboard Helper was released in 2001. Since then it has received a number of awards and has been certified as 'Safe to install' by multiple software directories, including a dedicated review in PC Direkt magazine.
