Bulk HTML Meta Editor

Rewrite title, description, and meta tags across many files.

SEO tidy-up on a static site with 500 pages, in one pass instead of 500.

Static sites with hundreds of pages share a problem: the <title> and <meta description> get stale, and editing each by hand is hours of work. Bulk HTML Meta Editor walks a folder tree, applies a rewrite rule to every file, and writes them back — with a backup in case you regret it.

What it does

Point the tool at a folder. Configure rules per meta tag — replace exact text, append to existing value, swap by regex, or inject if missing. Hit go. The tool walks every .html file, applies the rules, saves the result, and writes a side-by-side backup folder.

Tags it can edit

  • <title>
  • <meta name="description">
  • <meta name="keywords">
  • <meta name="author">
  • <meta name="robots">
  • Any other <meta> tag by name

When you need it

  • SEO refresh of a long-tail content site
  • Rebranding: change "OldName" to "NewName" across every page's title
  • Adding a missing description meta tag to old pages
  • Migrating a site to a new author or publisher signature

  • Recursive folder walk
  • Exact-text, append, prepend, regex, and inject-if-missing modes

System requirements

  • Windows 7, 8, 10, 11
  • About 1 MB of disk space
  • Enough free disk for the backup copy (same size as the source tree)
